Book report September 2023

Since I published Old Stars, New Light on April 26, I have been promoting the book the best I could. I reached out to some of you directly, posted on IG and FB, ran ads and countdown deals on Amazon, sent book for reviews, but I’ve not posted here. This is my quick update and thank you note.

In these 4.5 month many of you bought the book and shared your impressions. Some of you left your reviews at Amazon and Goodreads, some posted about it, some sent me pictures of you reading the book from around the world. It truly warms my heart, as you can imagine, to have all that support.

The book received an endorsement and later a favorable review from Steven Forrest – one of the most influential astrologers of our time whom I consider to be one of my mentors. Anthony Picco, who endorsed the book earlier, interviewed me on his Cosmic Tuesdays radio show – another friendly gesture from a teacher and a friend. We had a good time on the air. I got endorsements and shoutouts from renown astrologers Carmen Turner-Schott, Nadiya Shah, Michelle Young, Dianne Lawson and Tina Rahimi.

We sold some 150 books so far, which is more than one per day, freely shared 100+ more as giveaways, review copies, donated a few to libraries and stores.

I truly believe this book is more than astrology book, or tarot, or runes. Yes we discuss these tools in great detail, but we do so in a larger context of search for meaning, self-discovery, for our identity. We discuss common threads that connect people, and how we can be so similar and yet completely unique. We look at what influences our choices and how choices can be made with more awareness. 

In mid-80s USSR censors have loosen their grip and the excitement of impending freedom grew. The esteemed “Academy of Science bookstore” began selling stellar metaphysical treatises on Zen Buddhism, Sufism, apocrypha, Jewish mysticism. I spent hours in the store browsing these newly printed editions of the ancient wisdome.

I believe that my book belongs on the same shelf. There are pearls in it that are of the same depth and power to fine-tune our lives as those classics, hence the book is on course to find her readers through space and time.
